One of the variables that a keynote speaker often deals with is travel. Most professional speakers have to travel all over the country in order to be able to accommodate their client’s meetings. Depending on the time of the year this can be very straightforward or a proverbial nightmare.
As well all know, the weather can really reek havoc on the air travel industry. If a big block of cold air comes down from Canada and sweeps across the United States at the ‘wrong’ time, it can put the kibosh on your travel plans and even make it impossible for you to get where you need to go at the time you need to be there. Most leisure travelers have the luxury of being able to reschedule their travel plans, but people who are flying in order to be somewhere on a particular day can lose a significant amount of their business just because the weather decided to not cooperate. Travel insurance may be an option for a keynote speaker that wants to protect himself from incurring expenses for no reason.
